I had forgotten all about even taking this photo while I was there, do you ever do that? This will probably be the closest I will ever get to viewing the real thing. Taken straight from the Nikon, to computer, to you.

Rural Life
Not really rural but it's plenty of life. The Eiffel Tower on Las Vegas's main drag.

ABC Photo Challenge Update
Due to inlinkz charging for their services (I'm pretty cheep) and my much beloved photo challenge, 365 for 2011 picking up the ABC's, I have decided why double up on things.
For all my loyal ABC Photo Challenge followers that wish to continue on with their ABC photos you still can.
I am handing over the ABC Photo Challenge to the 365 Photo Challenge for 2011.
Here is the LINK where you can read up about the 365 photo challenge and hopefully sign-up and add your blog link.
I have to say that I have really enjoyed getting to know those of you that have been involved in the ABC photo challenge thus far. I also hope to continue to see you and your photo at the new host spot.
This 365 Photo Challenge has been going on for many years, I have been involved since 2008. There are many great photographers that are contributing to the 365 and I have learned much from them by just being rubbing blog shoulders with them.
I hope that this bit of news doesn't turn you off but will be looked upon as a new way to get out and meet new photographers.
Thanks again for your support, comments and I hope to see you at the NEW (well to some of you) 365 Photo Challenge for 2011.

ABC Photo Challenge Dec 15th - Dec 21st Letter "N"
First off I must tell those of you that posted your "M" photos last week...
THANK YOU for playing along!!!
I really have to apologize for not being a better host. Along with winters snow and cold comes the FLUE. Yup you guessed it... I let my immunity guard down and I was blessed with the sniffle, scratch throat and nagging cough.
Feeling much better today, better as long as I don't try any talking or sugar products.
I did, however, manage to get some photo taken for this weeks ABC Photo Challenge. Not to sure how good they are but they will get the point across.
BTW - can you believe that we are half way done going through the alphabet?
Now for this week ABC Photo Challenge and my interpretation of the LETTER "N"
Now it's your turn to share, for those of you that haven't joined us before, here are the rules -

Now for this week ABC Photo Challenge and my interpretation of the LETTER "N"
N is for Nikon Camera
Just a few of my odds and ends that I can't bare to be without
N is for Naval Oranges
I've been eating a lot of these lately, got to fill up on the "C's. With the freeze that Florida is having I'm wondering how it's going to effect the orange prices? Come to think of it my oranges come from California, whhh I feel better now.
N is for rock Nativity
A friend of mine us to paint of rock while I did the painting on wood. That was some time ago, way before photography. Sometimes I still miss getting out in the woodshed and cutting something up.
N is for Noel
Another rock creation. Don't ya just love the whimsical looking faces?
N is for Notions - sewing Notions
I have decided that this year all my grandchildren are getting new quilt These would not be the store bought kind. NO, these would all be sewn and tied by yours truly. Only have 5 more to go and I will have Christmas all tied up, pardon the pun. Ü
N is for Night - Silent Night
It's a standing joke around my house that we have a piano but not one to play it. I decided that I could add to the holiday cheer around the house by playing a few of my favorite Holiday pieces. Silent Night is my all time FAVE.
N is for Note - Song Note
Now it's your turn to share, for those of you that haven't joined us before, here are the rules -

ABC Photo Challenge - Dec. 8th - Dec. 15th Letter "M"
You are probably all familiar with the saying
"Don't put all you eggs in one basket."
I am here to tell you that this little phrase of advise should be heeded.
Shouldn't have all you documents in one place, have two.
Don't uploaded your photo to one drive, have two.
Have more than pair of winter boots, gloves and hats.
Infact I am a firm believer you should have two everything just incase.
So what does this have to do with the ABC Challenge?
This time of year I seem to over do it the TO DO LIST, I put way too many eggs in my weekly basket.
By doing so I feel behind. That ever happen at you place?
Well any way, this week ABC Photo Challenge is brought to you be the letter
"M"
M for mistaken, messed up, missed out, mediocre, miserable ME.
Keep an blogger eye open for my M photos - I am still editing and getting the meticulously perfect.

ABC Photo Challenge - Dec.1st - Dec 7th Letter "L"
We made it through another Holiday. Eating, baking, cooking, cleaning and family, hopefully a good time was had by all.
This time of year is so very busy for most of us. We wonder if we have enough time or energy to get everything done that is on our TO DO LIST.
Photos to get shot is just another item on my ever growing list. I am so inspired by all of you that still find the time to shoot and share.
This week letter is the letter "L" I am excited to see what will be captured this week by those of you that still have the time to sneak in some photography time.
Here are a few "L" photos that I was able to capture Last week -

For those that are playing along on the ABC Photo Challenge, here a News Flash!
You know how the challenge ran from Sunday to Saturday?
Well the ABC photo Challenge will NO LONGER be running Sunday - Saturday, we will NOW run from WEDNESDAY - TUESDAY!
There was just way too many photo Challenges that were starting and ending on the weekend one in particular is Ashley Sisk photo Challenge, I really missed not be able to be a part of hers and mine both.
So this weeks J photo challenge will continue on through Tuesday, then on Wednesday we will get a new letter to go out and shoot.

ABC Photo Challenge - Nov 14th - Nov 24th Letter "J"
It's time once again to link up your ABC Photos.
Are you finding that it is getting -
a. Easier to find photos to capture for your alphabet letter?
b. It's is still a struggle to find ideas for the weekly letter?
Well for me it is a time thing. This time of year on the ranch is CRAZY! Got to get everything ready for winter. Get the cattle down from the summer range, not mention baby it's cold outside.
I am so thrilled each time I get to see what you all have come up with each week, there are some great photographers out there playing along. Thanks!

I is for . . . and other Monday Photo Challenges
When I uploaded the ABC Photo Challenge link this week, well I didn't have mine ready. Instead of doing a re-post I am going to just do an ordinary every day post like everyone else that is contributing to the ABC Challenge.
So when all else fails and you have no other alternative, raise the ISO and convert to Black and White, that's what the pros do. It's also helpful when you have a very bad self portrait such as the one above, tired, bags under eyes, bad hair day photo.
I should have included photos of Idaho, inches, incandescent, imagination, in and a few others that I had in the works. But of well I am sure someone else will follow-up on those.
So I is for . . .
Icky, Icky Weather, Inside, Isolated and Insane.
We got our first of the seasons snow storm which I really have missed emotions over. On one hand I was ready for the snow, all the outdoor equipment, toys and summer goods is put away for winter. What I am not ready for is the cold, bone chilling cold.I is for . . Ice
and Ice cold drink.
Lately I find that I really like the taste of the blue Mt. Dew. Like the saying goes, "there's nothing like a Dew."
Is a Dew considered just beverage or can it be a food as well? I believe it all depends if that is all you have had all day.
Is a Dew considered just beverage or can it be a food as well? I believe it all depends if that is all you have had all day.
These two photos are also entered in The Paper Mama photo Challenge . . . Food.
I is for . . Ivories
I purchased this piano new some 15 years ago all because one of the boys insisted that he continue with his piano lessons. Didn't happen, in fact he fired his piano teacher without my knowing. I wish that I has been able to keep up with the piano when I was younger, but life on the farm just didn't allow for enough practice time.This photo is also added to Paper ♥ Cameras photo Challenge {The Little Details}
I is for . . . Irresistible
Candy corns, I have a sweet tooth for these little bits of pumpkin and corn shaped bits of pure sugar. Something about them is just so Inviting, to Irresistibly to pass up. One of the fall traditions, have a few empty jars filled with these tasty Orange Items.
This Irresistible Sweet Treat photo has been entered in the
Macro Monday And what do you do when you have a over abundance of Orange Pumpkins the go Into cattle food. DH isn't really in pain just looks that way. We had a whole pickup load of unused, unclaimed unwanted Halloween pumpkins that had to bee unloaded, chopped and fed as uncooked pumpkin pie to the hungry bovines.
f/2.8 @ 1/400 ISO 6400
One of the things that the Photo Basics students learn in lesson 2 is a little known secret that the pro use. When you just have to get the shot but due to low light, no flashes allowed and not a large enough lens aperture your left with only one alliterative, Raise the ISO. Here I raise the ISO up as high as my camera would go. The Image made for a really grain color photo but when you convert the image to Black and White you have a totally new effect. So when all else fails and you have no other alternative, raise the ISO and convert to Black and White, that's what the pros do. ABC Photo Challenge - Oct. 31 - Nov 6th Letter "H"
"I'm late! I'm Late, for a very important date!" said the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.
So goes my life this past week, late, busy, swamped and behind. BUT, never fail I did not forget.
I have to first tell all of you that participated in the letter "G" challenge, GREAT JOB!! I could not believe all the different types of "G" photos that you all came up with, lots of giraffe, graffiti, the color green, and grasshoppers topped the most photographed list. GREAT GOBS of Gooey Gopher Guts never made the photographed list, thank goodness.
Now for those of you that haven't joined us before, here are the rules -
Hanging out! Sometimes you just have to line dry.
My Japanese thorough Breed Horse, Honda. I can cover more ground in an Hour that DH can on his Quarter Horse.
HORNET HIVE! Good Golly I thought that I didn't have a Hornet problem this year. But after seeing what the built and left in my tree, I guess that I did.
HAY, lots and lots of HAY to get the Herd through the winter. We had a nasty prank going around the area where Hay stacks where being lit on fire just for the fun of it. Where do some people come up with such ideas, don't they understand where there Big Macs come from and have to eat?
YE OL HOMESTEAD. I spent a good part of one whole month repainting the old place. You Heard it here first, I WILL NEVER DO THIS AGAIN! Hiring it done next time
Littlest Cattle HEARDER! Isn't he just the cutest little thing all dressed up in His Cowboy outfit. Had to keep reminding Him to watch where He put His feet.
Checking out the HERD! Just a few of the girls that Had their bags packed when it was time to leave the summer range. I just wish that they were all Home and I didn't Have to go and round-up the rest of the allusive brats. Always a few that Have to be Hard Headed!

ABC Photo Challenge - Oct. 24th- 30th Letter "G"
Well I am official back. Hunting season is over for me. I love the time away from the rush and craziness of the valley. Love the time that I get to spend outdoors, just me, a good friend and a couple of trusty dogs. We send the men folk off to live in the mountains while we enjoy the comforts of a 5th wheel travel trailer. We have all the luxurious needed to survive except internet hookups.
This hunting season I got to help in a search and rescue, capture a run away mule and listen to the dog nightly as they informed me that there was a moose in camp. AH, such good times.
Now that I have all that out of my system, I hope you all had a great week off from the ABC Challenge. Were you able to get some good "G" photos? I hope so, as I am wanting to see what your interpretations are.
This weeks photos are brought to you by the letter -
Here are y photos for this weeks challenge - the letter "G". Enjoy as they aren't to in-Generous. Just some ordinary items that needed a photographed.
What would the letter "G" be without a Ghost? Handmade by yours truly back in the day when I use to spend more time with my power tools than my camera. Perhaps someday I will open up my wood shed and start cutting out some more wood items. Perhaps.
Last bloom of the last Geranium. It is predicted snow for Sunday, 4" of it. We shall se as I have heard this rumor before. Perhaps I should bring this Glorious Geranium indoors for the winter. Perhaps.
Gears, Groves and Grunge! Parts of an old baler that has seen better days.
Glorious and Gorgeous. I love full moon photos. Taken from my camp spot as it came over the mountains. Just with that I could get moon details and mountains all in one shot. Guess I will have to start bracketing my photos for that look.
"G" is for greenery. I didn't even notice that I had this winged critter in the shot until I up-loaded. Oh and these berries are good for nothing other than looks.
"G" is for Golden Autumn leaves. I have never seen so much fall color so late in the season before. LOVE IT!
Last "G" photo is for a happy GRIN. Love the BIG blue eyes on the man cub.
Please only link to your blog POST that is about the ABC Photo Challenge. thanks

"G" is for Golden Autumn leaves. I have never seen so much fall color so late in the season before. LOVE IT!
Last "G" photo is for a happy GRIN. Love the BIG blue eyes on the man cub.
Now it is your turn for you ABC Photo Share and for any of those that are new to this challenge, here is what the Alphabet (ABC) Photo Challenge is all about.
The Alphabet (ABC) Photo Challenge is a means of encouraging us all to get out of our comfort zone, take our cameras and be creative with how we see each letter of the alphabet. Each week (Sunday) we start off with a new alphabet letter, we will go in consecutive order, a,b,c,d,e etc.
You can take a picture every day or just once a week using the letter as a guideline, that's totally up to you. Then Link your Alphabet photos to the challenge thread. If you don't get one every day, don't feel bad, this is all for fun, practice and seeing the world around you in a new way.

EXTRA . . . EXTRA . . . ABC News Report on the Letter "G"
Do you ever find yourself totally swamped? Well that is how it is around my house the middle of OCT.
Hunting season is here and I have to be up to the trail-head on the 14th or is it the 13th .... I better check on that one. Any way due to hunting season, my being away from my computer for 9 day and no internet or cellphone service, the letter G will not be coming this next Sunday. : (
That will give you all that are playing along with the ABC Photo Challenge one week to get all you G photos taken, edited and ready for posting on the 24th of OCT.
Can you imagine going 9 days cold turkey, no way to communicate with the outside world? Living in a 5th wheel travel trailer, running on generator power, no phone, no TV, no shopping, gosh what will I ever do.
My plan is to -
So now get out there and shoot something G fun for the 24th.

ABC Photo Challenge - Oct. 10- 16th Letter "F" & Scavenger Hunt
How would you describe a CRAZY week? I would have to describe mine this way: Family, hiking, more family, clearing yard for winter, finish up the garden, freeze what's left of the corn crop, fix fence before cows come home for winter, 2 photo sessions, part one of cattle round-up, truck cattle to new range, 1 more photo session and try to get some house cleaning down. I think I need a long rest so that I can get ready for this next weeks activities.
Well enough of my story, I hope you all had a great week of finding and shooting your "E"'s. I seen some very interesting, scary, ingenious and unique photos staring the letter "E".
This weeks letter is the letter "F" I hope you have as much fun this week find your photos as you did last week.
My photos for this week are a continuation of my visit to my neighboring Teton National Park. There is just so much to photography this time of year in the park. The animals and scenery are just amazing.
The First photo is of another Black Bear who is perched high in a Hawthorn Berry tree. I kept excepting him to FALL but for some reason these guys just seem to be able to hang on at such heights. Viewing spread eagle.
The second photo is of the Fall Colors. Some Mountain Ash berries mixed amongst the Fir Trees and the hint of Orange Leaves. Makes me think of Christmas, seeing natures made wreath and colors.
The third photo is of the Hidden Falls. You have to hike in about 4 miles into Cascade Canyon to get a peek at these. Hidden Falls isn't really a fall but a cascade of water as it runs down the granite creek bed past one of the Grands into Jenny Lake below
My Fourth photo is of the wild Frontier. Yes it is still called Wild and it is still a Frontier. Herds of wild buffalo roam Freely. Numbering in the thousands, these animals are very unpredictable at best.
My Fifth photo is of a Foggy Photo of the Teton Mountain range. Looking past a rail Fence over the Fall winter Feeding grounds for Elk and Buffalo.
My Sixth photo is of Fancy Footwear. You may have heard the saying that everything in Texas is done on the large side? Well I think that Wyoming may have them beat in the Footwear department. Good for some fast Booking out of the area.
Lastly is just of Pink Floral Fantasy. Every one in a while I have to go and purchase some color for the inside. Something that will add a bit a cheer.
The above photos are part of the ABC Photo Challenge and Ashley Sisk Scavenger Hunt Sunday Challenge
I hope you enjoyed and weren't to bored by by my share of my Favorite places to photography. I promise that I will go out and photography something new for next week letter.
