What do you run to when you are not feeling your best? Do you find that there is just certain foods that just seem to make everything all right again?
I spent all day Friday helping a friend of a friend round-up, gather, chase and otherwise find is cattle. Don't get me wrong, I love the thrill of being on horse back for roughly 10 hours. It's just that my aging body doesn't like it so much any more.
So what brought me comfort after a long, hard, cold, muddy cattle drive? You are probable thing hot tube, that would have been nice. Foot and body massage, might have to think long and hard on that one. Warm fuzzy PJ'S sitting in front or a quiet fire, hmm, that also would have been great last night.
Nope none of the above.
What I ran to was . . . French Fries . . .
Dumb I know . . . but these little morsels of fried potatoes have always made me feel a better. Could it be the grease? Or is it the salt I crave? Or could it be that I was raise on a potato farm and still have to have my fill of spuds? I don't really know what it is but when I am feeling down, ill or just need a pick-me-up, these always to the trick. Oh and I have to have the side of fry sauce to make the dish complete.
