Market Lake Birding Session - Idaho Falls Photographer

Could spring really have arrived to my area?  Sixty seven degrees, the grass is turning green and I am off to go birding at Market Lake.  I here that there is a group of a thousand plus trumpeter swans that have some in on their migration route.  I am excited to see if this is true or not.
By the way Market Lake is a bird wild life area that is very close to my home town.  I love going there in any season to photograph birds, animals, landscapes and sunrises.
Seeing black amongst all the white, snow geese and coots
Heads up we're coming in for a landing.
Daydreaming or boredom, which is it I wonder?

The only way to get up close and personal with wildlife is to have a REAL LONG LENS such as a 500mm.  Nice job Linda.
Come on guys, can you give me a little breathing room please!!!
Spring has sprung, the grass has riz and this is where all the butterflies is.  I know, bad English but what do you expect from a non-writer?

1.9.11 Comfy & Cozy

HI!  It's me again.  Two post in one day, I will have to jot this one down.
Been racking my brain, trying to figure out what I was going to photograph for todays 365.  What was going to be note worth?  What was there that was going to make this day memorable?
I came around the bedroom door and there it was, todays memorable photo entry.
Story behind the photo -
DP (that is how I will reference my Hubby) isn't feeling well today, I think he is coming down with the dreaded crud.  I doctored him up the best I could and he settled down for his usual Sunday Nap.
Bare (that's the dog) isn't allowed to come into the living area of the house as he is a working cattle dog.  If you have been around a working cattle dog you will know why that is.  I think that how ever had this poor mut before he came to live with DP and I must have let him have the run of the place.
There Bare and DP were all snuggled up together all COMFY COZY.  DP was so out of it that he didn't even know that Bare had crawled up beside him on the recliner.
Now who am I going to discipline Bare for climbing on the furniture for DP for not being coherent enough to know something was going on?

Hope your day is as Comfy & Cozy as these twos.

1.3.11 This Is Me - Self Portrait

It’s been some time since I have  taken the time to get a picture of myself.  I am always the one that is left out of the photos due to the fact that I’m always behind the camera.
Today I decided that I would try my hand at a self portrait, gosh is that hard.  I find that I would really rather still be behind the lens shooting than in front trying to strike a pleasing pose.
Crazy huh when you think of all the photos that are cluttering up your hard drives.  How many of those photos are of other people, places or things and not you.  Sad really.
New years resolution – get more ME photos on the hard drive for future posterity to enjoy.

It's Been a Crazy Summer

Wind, Sun, Rain, Snow, Cold and more even more wind is how this summer has come.  Then it was parties, funeral, reunions and grand children.
I think that I need a vacation from my summer vacation.
I have also been working on cleaning out storage rooms, down-sizing my crafts and trying to decide what I should keep and what I should get rid of.
I spent time with family, officially and un-officially.
Latest photo shoot was of my sisters family.  Casual and unrehearsed, just like I like it.
Thanks gals for letting me come and play.  I look forward to the 27th and our get together.

Hunting Season Opens

This week hunting season opens for big game and I wont be able to go again this year due to family injuries.  Last year it was me getting over cancer surgery and treatment.  Then is was my hubby with broken ribs and shoulder.  Gosh what a year was that.
Well  saddle up those horses, pack up the mules and head up the trail and spend 7 days.  It's cold, warm, rainy, snowy and just plain fun.  There isn't anything better than live out west where you can still find the wide open spaces.  Places where few men/women ever travel.
I really am going to miss this outing this year.  Perhaps I can make it next year if EVERYONE stays well.

BTW this photo is the trail boss / neighbor.  He is so great, I will really miss his dry humor and butter potatoes.

All In A Days Catch

Phill_08_15_2009_4274, originally uploaded by bob_r_ann.
I don't know who got a better catch, Heather or myself.
After spending a long day casting and waiting, Heather was able to land a 17", 3lb trout.
It tasted as good as it looked. Ü

{Day 102}

Theme #123 Go Fish!
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw these two guys down at the river fishing. Water was way too high, too fast and way TOO muddy. I don't know what they were thinking. No it has been sometime since I have had a fishing pole in my hand but this I don know, YOU CAN'T CATCH FISH WHEN THE WATERS RUNNING FAST!.
Not that said I wonder if they had any luck?
