72 - 03.13.10 - SOMETHING OLD

Old and Worn
I got my first Old Glory when I was 7.  I flew it as often as my parents allowed.  Just something about seeing the flag fly.   I still get that feeling.  I love to see flags waving in the breeze.  Love to see them in parades being held my small children or the military.
This is my first flag, it is the one I purchased when I was 7.  It's seen better days, it's a bit tattered.  I don't fly it any more, it been replaced by a newer model. But, the new flags just are built the same, don't have the same meaning, the same memories as this one.

I love the way you scrunched it up for the picture, it gives the feeling of the wind blowing it...beautiful!

I really, really like this shot. The textures of the folded fabric and your focus on the field of stars is wonderful.

I love the way it looks all faded like it has been flown on many sunny days!! I too, LOVE seeing this flag wave in the wind especially since I grew up an Air Force brat and now my husband is in the Air Force. The flag means so much!! Beautiful photo!

Red, White and Blue. I love your story and I get that it is old from the faded blue. I wish we had the same love of our flag. Love your perspective.

I, like everyone else, love the faded colors. Adds so much to the image. The background provided makes it all that more special.
