02.06.11 Car Parts

They sure don't make them like they use to. That can be a good thing or bad, depending on how you look at it.
I love old auto. Cars, truck, tractors, if it had a motor and some age I love it.
I came across this old truck this weekend while I was snow-machining. I had seen it before out in the distance but time never allowed me to get up close and personal.
One thing I don't understand is why parts of history have to be used for target practice. I could say that it's a guy thing but I have seen many a female unload their guns on items that aren't theirs. Makes me want to go unload on their mail box.
Any way here is my photo for today - CAR PARTS. You can mouse over the photo to see the before and after.

Roll your mouse over the photo and you can see the "Before Edit" version.

Wondering how you to can add a rollover image on your blog?  Here is a nifty little tutorial on how it's done -

HEY! Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day.

Love it!! A neighbor of mine has two really neat old pick-ups. I've asked him to let me take some pics of one that he keeps in his garage throughout the winter...it's rusted with traces of old green and blue paint jobs. The other one is currently outside of his fence line...you've inspired me to go ahead and get over there to photograph it. LOVE old cars!

Fabulous photo and thanks for the tutorial on rollovers. I will have to add it to my (long) list of tutorials to watch. One question/suggestion - did you mean to have the "before" photo be your main photo or your "after"? I think "after" might work better for people who may only have time to see it on a Reader and/or not bother doing the rollover.

I love the edit version. It looks so amazing. I have never understood why people like to damage and destroy things. I have never seen a rollover image, so fun learing today too!!

The added texture and the subtle sepia work well for this antique--however abused it may be.

And to think that it was once somebody's pride and joy, now it's used for target practice.

I like how tight you shot this old timer. I don't get the appeal of shooting up stuff and especially a fine truck that no doubt was a trusty tool.

I love the difference in the color tones after your edit. It is a shame that it was used for target practice.
